Product Highlights:

Schaeffler Fuel Cell Stack There is little doubt that hydrogen fuel cell cars will play a significant role in the fleets of tomorrow. The availability of hydrogen is nearly limitless, and it can be obtained from a large number of naturally sourced materials. Storing and transporting hydrogen is relatively easy. Vehicles that run on hydrogen can be easily refueled and offer long ranges. The electric output of the fuel cell is easy to scale, providing an environmentally friendly drive alternative, such as for trucks in long-haul operations. Schaeffler is focusing on the highly efficient energy converter and sees its contribution as being on both the component and module levels, such as metallic bipolar plates (BPP). Fuel Cell stacks from Schaeffler offer the following advantages: • Compact power plant for e-mobility with high power • Complement and possible replacement for traction batteries • High energy densities and long range • Use cases: long haul heavy duty, busses, intralogistics, passenger vehicles Key features are: • Highly sophisticated BPP coating system • All process steps of BPP mastered by Schaeffler • Easy scaling of generated electrical power • Low weight
